Google Outlook iCal

DescriptionAre you interested in learning more about growing California native plants and why they are so important in every garden? Do you grow some natives, but want to learn more about them? UC Master Gardeners will give a free introductory talk on growing California natives with tips on easy-to-grow plants and how to maintain them. After the presentation, we will tour the native plant garden adjacent to the library and see firsthand many of the plants discussed.

UC Master Gardener Presenters
Cathrin Callas: Cathrin joined the UC Master Gardener program in 2022 after retiring from a career in engineering. A California native, her life-long love of flowering plants includes a particular interest in California native plants. She currently lives and gardens in San Carlos.
Carmen Mahood: Carmen became a UC Master Gardener in 2025. She maintains a large garden surrounding her home in Belmont. She had a long career in education and was an art guide at the San Francisco Museums of Fine Art for over a decade. Her particular gardening interests are oak trees, native plants, and landscaping.
Ellen Woods: A UC Master Gardener since 2022, Ellen tends two gardens at her Menlo Park home: one in almost complete shade and the other in hot southwest sun where Mediterranean plants and California natives thrive.
