Garlic is a long-season crop - plant it in October and harvest it in June. Join UC Master Gardener of Yolo County Pam McCabe to learn the many reasons for growing your own garlic and the simple steps to successfully produce healthy, homegrown garlic.

Pam has been growing garlic for more than 10 years -- and enjoys cooking with it. Before retiring, Pam was a special education teacher, school psychologist, and school district administrator, among other roles. These days she does most of her gardening in an 18x20-foot community garden.

The Master Gardener Library Series, a collaboration of the UC Master Gardener Program of Yolo County and the Yolo County Library, is held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. Presentations are free and open to anyone with an interest in gardening. No registration necessary.

For questions or to sign up for announcements of future trainings, contact Joan Tuss at Joan.Tuss@yolocounty.gov.
