Overview: 

The Cattle Scholarship supports a 4-H or FFA member in raising and selling a bred heifer or market steer at their local fair and, ultimately, aims to help youth build strong ties with their ranching community and the beef industry

Who can apply? 

• This application is open to all Siskiyou County 4-H or FFA members that are 9 years old or older.
• We updated our program in 2024 based on previous experience and feedback. Key updates:
  • Tulelake Butte Valley Fair eligible Applicants: you are applying to receive a market steer for the Tulelake-Butte Valley Fair (NOT a bred heifer)
  • Siskiyou Golden Fair eligible Applicants: you are applying to receive a bred heifer for the Siskiyou Golden Fair (NOT a market animal)
