Got questions on summer gardening? Want to know more about the selection and care of trees? Wondering about your soil’s health? We’ve got you covered.

Explore Our Gardening Resource Collections to Help Your Garden Thrive.
We have information organized by big topics such as seasonal gardening, methods and techniques, trees, plant health and maintenance, plants and shrubs, and environmental factors. Under each big topic, we have subtopics; for instance, under “Plant Health and Maintenance” we have diseases, pests, bugs and insects, invasive species, weeds, soil health and fertilizing, and watering.
Why Collections? To Make Our Gardening Resources More Available and Useful to Home Gardeners
The Alameda County Help Desk of UC Master Gardeners has been writing blogs since 2021 and now has over 60 blogs. The blogs have been available in chronological order, but now we have organized them into collection topics to make them more useful to the home gardeners. For instance, you can now click on “Summer Gardening in Alameda County” and find all the blogs we have written about summer topics. These summer gardening articles cover how to identify and manage summer pests, especially in our vegetable gardens. Here are practical ideas of how to water to fit the varied microclimates of Alameda County.
What Is Covered in the Gardening Resource Collections?
The topics of our blogs have been wide-ranging from plant health and maintenance to specific gardening techniques. We have blogs for specific diseases and ones for general care of plants and trees. They are now grouped in the general categories.
We are in the process of building out these resources, and most topics are linked, but more will be added as more blogs are written. Come take a look at what we have.
