Elfin Forest-A Central Coast Wonder

On a recent trip to the California Central Coast, we happened upon a magical wonderEl Moro Elfin Forest Natural Area. It was an especially wonderful surprise for us, as we had lived in Santa Barbara for over 20 years, and had been to the Central Coast many, many times over the years.

This spring I decided to try using potato grow bags. I planted seed potatoes in two bags and in one raised bed. I was late getting them planted, as we had been out of town. By the time they went into the soil, many of the seed potatoes had already sprouted.

Insidious Field Bindweed

There is a lot of twisting turning flowering field bindweed Convolvulus arvensis in my garden right now. Driving past fields near my home a couple of days ago it looked like snow had fallen. Not snow, but Field Bindweed.
