Applying for a Training Class
We are planning on offering a training class in winter 2026 in collaboration with the statewide MFP program. Details will be shared when we set the schedule.
As part of the application process, we ask potential trainees to attend one of the online information sessions which are posted above or view the recording of a session. There is also a brief, friendly interview before acceptance to make sure your expectations are met and questions are answered. This will be the best way to learn more about the next class.
There is a fee to cover our costs. We expect the training cost to be approximately $200 for materials.
If you are on our email list, we will notify you when the applications are available. You can also check on our Facebook page for updates.

FAQ
Our organization is run by completely volunteers dedicated to safe food preservation practices. We're always interested in finding new members! While we offer public workshops throughout the year, we only offer the training for new volunteers every other year. We encourage you to attend our workshops, but if you have questions on joining us, most will be answered here. Contact us if you have more questions at immg@ucanr.edu.
