Bees, Butterflies and Other Pollinators - Irvine

Get your garden prepared to host some of our favorite pollinators 

Late Summer is the time to plan for new plantings in the Fall. Even if you don't have a large garden space, some plants in pots can help with habitat for these garden helpers. Come and learn how you can make small changes in your garden space and how to plan and when to plant for the greatest effect. Learning the story of and the importance, evolution, and methods of pollination, We will meet some of the regular pollinators honey bees, wasps, butterflies, moths and hummingbirds. But we won’t leave out the lesser-known pollinators such as flies, beetles and bats. Along the way, they’ll discuss bee nesting habits, host and nectar plants, and causes of the decline in bee population. Finally, you will pick up some tips on attracting and saving pollinators.    

The class is free and open to the public.
