Nevada County 4-H to Host Open House in Grass Valley

Grass Valley — Nevada County 4-H will host an Open House on Friday, September 12, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the L.O.V.E. Building in Condon Park, 660 Minnie Street.

The event will introduce families and community members to the wide range of activities and opportunities available through the Nevada County 4-H program. Attendees will have the chance to meet local club leaders, explore new project areas, and enjoy hands-on activities.

Nevada County 4-H, part of the University of California Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources, is open to youth ages 5–18. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, leadership, and civic engagement. Enrollment fees are $67 per youth member and $28 per adult volunteer leader.

With nearly 400 youth participants and 90 adult volunteers across 10 clubs in western Nevada County, 4-H offers opportunities in everything from agriculture to science, arts, and community service.

Founded more than a century ago, 4-H has grown into the largest youth development program in the United States, serving millions of young people nationwide. While it has deep agricultural roots, today’s 4-H offers a broad range of educational experiences designed to give youth the skills to thrive throughout their lives. All 4-H programs are accessible and open to all youth.
