Have you seen all the pictures and videos of sourdough online and thought, "I want to do that"? Well, here's your chance! Learn from our UC Master Food Preservers of Sacramento County and unlock the mysteries of baking sourdough with our hands-on class.

You'll learn how to maintain a starter, bake sourdough from start to finish, and much more! At the end of the class, you'll go home with a dough, tools, and all the knowledge you need to successfully bake your own picture-worthy loaf at home!

Class is intended for ages 16 and up.

Bring: A box or bag to take their dough and tools home. It is highly recommended for attendees to have a Dutch oven (minimum 4.5qt) at home or comparable vessel to bake sourdough. 

Registration includes: ingredients, jars, resource material and use of UC Master Food Preserver equipment.

This is an in-person, hands-on workshop. 

When: Saturday, October 18, 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM

Fee: $70 for up to two people

Registration deadline: Thursday, October 16, 5:00 PM
