About the Event

Core Skills: Apple Butter & Dehydrated Apple Rings is the first class in the Apples All Year series from the University of California Master Food Preservers. This free, live online class introduces safe, research-based ways to preserve apples at home using USDA- and UC-approved recipes.

Learn how to turn seasonal apples into creamy apple butter and crisp, dehydrated apple rings—delicious ways to enjoy the harvest long after the season ends.

By the end of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Prepare and safely can apple butter using a tested, research-based recipe.
  • Dehydrate apples into crunchy rings for shelf-stable snacks.
  • Apply safe food preservation practices approved by UC and USDA.
  • Understand the basics of storage for quality and food safety.
