Near Balboa Park’s west entrance on Laurel Avenue, the demonstration garden showcases succulents and water-wise plants, as well as bronze sculptures honoring San Diegans instrumental in the park’s creation: Ephraim Morse, Alonzo Horton, and George White Marston.
This garden is a partnership between UC Master Gardeners and The Forever Balboa Committee for Horticulture, dedicated to enhancing and sustaining San Diego’s Balboa Park. In partnership with the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department, the Master Gardeners provide garden maintenance and volunteer efforts, including the 'Adopt-a-Plot' program, which features the Balboa Park demonstration garden.
