This free, live online class from the University of California Master Food Preservers Online Delivery Program introduces safe, research-based methods for canning, dehydrating, and flavoring festive foods to share with friends and family. Learn to craft delicious and beautiful preserved treats — perfect for gifting, entertaining, or enjoying yourself all season long.
NOTE: This class and the December 3rd class will have identical content.
Learning Outcomes of the Class
By the end of this class, participants will be able to:
- Make apple chutney with raisins, a sweet and tangy preserve that’s shelf-stable and pairs well with meat or cheese.
- Create cranberry marmalade that bursts with citrus brightness and color.
- Prepare spiced and dried nuts for safe, crunchy, giftable snacks.
- Dehydrate citrus wheels to use as garnishes, decorations, or fragrant holiday gifts.
- Apply UC- and USDA-approved food preservation methods confidently and safely at home.
