Get ready to turn your pear haul into pantry gold! In this lively workshop with the UC Master Food Preservers of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties, we’ll celebrate all things pear—starting with a quick peek at their juicy history and the many varieties you’ll love.
Then, roll up your sleeves and learn how to: safely can pears using a water bath or steam canner, make a low-sugar Autumn Cranberry Pear Jam with low-methoxyl pectin, and whip up a cozy Pear Ginger Marmalade (no added pectin!).
Whether you’re a seasoned preserver or just pear-curious, you’ll leave with new skills, tasty recipes, and inspiration to enjoy these sweet gems all year long!
