The UC Master Food Preserver Program of Inyo and Mono Counties helps our community reduce food waste, preserve seasonal abundance, and improve food safety through research-based home food preservation education.

Founded in 2014, our local volunteers are trained by the University of California Cooperative Extension to share safe, reliable methods of canning, drying, freezing, fermenting, curing, and pickling food at home.

Our program is part of the larger statewide network of Master Food Preserver programs.

What We Do

  • Teach safe, USDA- and UC-tested food preservation methods.
  • Offer public classes, workshops, and demonstrations.
