
Environmental Horticulture is the production and care of human-managed landscape plants and trees to provide aesthetically pleasing landscapes that enhance ecosystem services. The Environmental Horticulture Program intends to provide science-based information for landscape professionals to improve environmental, economic, and social sustainability within Placer and Nevada counties. The information presented here is intended for arborists and professional landscapers.
Dr. Bruno Pitton is the Environmental Horticulture Advisor serving Placer and Nevada counties. Dr. Pitton has over twenty years of experience in Environmental Horticulture, beginning with his undergraduate education at UC Davis. Dr. Pitton conducted research focused on residential irrigation runoff, water recycling at nurseries, and nitrogen management in nurseries.
